The code does not work

Four things go wrong most often, in this order.

  1. A character read wrong

    Codes avoid characters that look alike, so there is no O and no I in them: what looks like an O is a zero, what looks like an l is a one. Upper and lower case do not matter, dashes do not either.

  2. The code is still under the coating

    Some cards hide the code under a scratch-off field. Rub it off carefully with a coin.

  3. The code has already been used

    Each code works once. If you bought the record second hand, the first owner may have used it. The seller can issue a new one.

  4. The code belongs somewhere else

    Not every download card is a redeemoid card. If the card names another website, the code only works there.

Questions about download codes

Where do I find my download code?
On the card in the sleeve, on a sticker on the cover or on a slip in the wrap. Some cards hide the code under a scratch-off field: rub it off with a coin.
My code does not work. Why?
Check for typos first: the code is not case sensitive, and the dashes are optional. If it still fails, the code may already have been used.
Why does it not say whether the code exists?
On purpose. A message that told the difference would let someone guess codes that belong to other people.
I downloaded the file but it broke. Do I get another try?
Yes. After you redeem, the download works for another 72 hours, up to 5 times in total.
The code is old. Does it expire?
Codes do not expire by themselves. The person who sold you the record decides how long their files stay online.
Nobody can help me?
